![]() ![]() Insurance is for the sellers protection, the buyer is covered by the eBay MBG. ![]() If the postal carrier doesn't think yuo used enough packing material they will not pay out on an insurance claim. I know that the mail system can be rough on packages so I package items so that I know it can be safely thrown at LEAST 4 feet and have another heavy package land on top of it. There policies are full of these Little nuggets that of course are all in their favor and as with all their predatory practices you have no recourse as they by far are the giant, in comparison to any are responsible for items arriving safely and on time. Their “Satisfaction Guarantee” for buyers is in fact a forced return policy even if the seller specifies no return. I also requested he keep the item in an effort to at least escape being charged expensive return postage on a now useless, broken item. I listed the facts as stated above but he requested a refund and eBay withdrew the funds and gave it to him. After receiving the package the buyer contacted me and stated that he watched his carrier throw the package over a 6ft privacy fence and he wanted a refund. First off last year I shipped a fragile package and didn’t offer any refunds for that reason, I also bought extra insurance at no expense to the buyer in an effort to protect them. I find their policies to be intentionally confusing and quite predatory in many respects. I mostly buy on eBay but lately am selling too, but either way I’m strictly small potato’s, volume of transactions very small for the many years of been here. ![]()
